Design Basics

Dual-Prong Focal TagIf you don’t have a design in mind, you can get ideas from the display. There are recipes on the display poster, on the tags (check the fronts and backs), and more ideas on our Garden Recipes page.

Select one of the custom ceramic pots at the display (or any other container you love) and then look at the plants. When you see a plant that appeals to you, check the tag for the best use of that plant. You can follow the recipe that accompanies that plant, find another recipe, or wing it to have fun making your own succulent dish garden.

Look for Focal plants, which will be the focal point of your design, add Structural plants to build your garden, and Textural plants to add interest to your garden. You'll find six different types of garden toppings to suit your personal tastes, including glass drops, sea glass, and river pebbles. And rest assured that these plants will do well together, as they have the same lighting and watering needs.

4 Pack SucculentsThe larger plants can be used for any project; perhaps you are planting a rockery or special area? The 4-packs of succulents are also perfect for crafty folks who make such charmers as succlent topiaries and spheres. There are so many uses for the sophisticated look of succulents, both indoors and out. Have fun as you enjoy this great plant category.
